Male Entrepreneur, age 55, started my business in January of this year. I am in the process of creating a demo DVD that contains samples of my work. I want to have a segment explaining the reasons I got into the business. I am planning to be seated at my work table with a film projector on the table to my side, then face the camera. I am looking for appropriate attire for this segment.

Joe,

Great question.

All of these questions will be forwarded and answered by Joanna. As soon as we collect all the questions, we will send everyone info on date/time of this great seminar.

I don't like wearing suits. I burned them a while back at a beach party in San Diego. If I were to go out and shop for a nice jacket or two to wear with my coolio dark jeans, what are some good stores or brands to check out? I like to feel relaxed and look cool.

Miles,

Burning suits at a beach party in San Diego...

I think I was at that party.

Great question-stay tuned for date/time and the answer.

What is the correct lenght of shirt sleeves when wearing a suit? How far beyond the end of the suit jacket sleeve should they be?

I am afraid I am still a suit wearer, suit burnings are frowned upon in TX.

Matthew, I am interested in understanding...When "should I/should I not" wear a "complete business suit" anymore?

Heading to a large industry conference at the end of this month. All of the working attendees will be in suits, but the regular attendees will not be. Is there a dress attire that looks very professional (but not flashy) without pulling out the suit that doesn't fit well anymore? It will fit well though in a few months!

As one travels from east coast to west coast there seems to be a significant difference in acceptable dress for identical functions. Please list the staples that should be in my travel bag to handle most functions.

Wayne,

Your east coast to west coast question is a great one.

I moved from east coast to west coast in 1999 and I must say there is something to the somewhat less formal acceptable dress that I like.

Maybe it is me looking for an excuse to not wear a suit everyday?

Thanks,

Matthew
